What It Always Comes Down to with Trump

Well, here we are on the eve of the second impeachment for Donald Trump, now the former president of the United States. I think the critics are right about the argument that this is useless because he is already not president, so who could ask for anything more?

Certainly not me, and I would argue, not you, too. Why?

Because all we are doing here is extending a platform Trump has already used up, giving him another chance to argue this election was stolen from him (with no evidence whatsoever).

Face it, this was perhaps the cleanest election in U.S. Presidential history. Joe Biden won by a respectable, big margin, and on every single day from election to now, Trump and his supporters have been pushing the same lie, that they were robbed. In the interim, the nation is moving on. The vicious assault on the capitol is getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror and the challenges ahead of us are looming, mountain like, as we try to repair a nation President Trump damn near ruined.

So why give him any more time on the stage, at all?

I would rather have him blathering about down in Florida trying to assemble a coalition of that north Georgia Greene woman, the remains of Rudy G. and whatever else he can find because the closer they get to one another, the more likely it is they will just explode from all that bile.

So let them do that.

But not at the expense of the U.S. government and the tarnished but still lovely hallowed halls of Congress. The sooner we continue ignoring Donald Trump, the better we will be!
